SNOWMADE

Edvard Munch in Snow and Ice
February, 16th - 23rd 2011

For the World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo there will be a breathtaking exhibition in snow and ice on the main street of Oslo: Karl Johan. The sculptors were invited to send a proposal of a sculpture in snow or ice using the work of Edvard Munch. They will have to transform Munchs 2-dimensional work into 3-dimentional. The sculpture must interpret his work as close to his intent as possible.
The exhibition area will be between The Royal Castle and the Parliament and it will be in the street close to large and architecturally very "present" buildings. The works will be seen by several 100 millions of TV viewers and 10.000s of spectators during SKI VM each day. The projects have all been selected out of 41 applicants and more than 60 suggestions from 20 countries.
Paola Arminio, Bonnie (Luca Bonetti), Gianmario Bonfadini and Silvia Perlini will be in our team representing Italy.
